In November 2011, Joh. Barth & Sohn the leading provider of hop related services presented Volume 1 of the Hop Aroma Compendium. This Compendium offered completely new insights in the hop aroma. Two world champion beer sommeliers and a perfumist described in detail the aromas of the most important hop varieties. Now Volume 2 is presented, with 43 hop varieties at all. The new comparison of growing areas e.g. compares a Tettnanger that was grown in Tettnang with one from the USA. The Hop Aroma Compendium Volume 2 is to support all brewers who are keen to rediscover hops – not just in terms of their technical values but by showing an interest in the hop aromas and their effects on the finished beer.
